Brief Description of the Business:
Tata Power Limited is India’s largest integrated power company with presence in all the segments of the power sector such as fuel & logistics, generation (thermal, hydro, solar and wind), transmission, distribution, and trading. The company has an installed generation capacity of 10757 MW. It has an installed hydro capacity of 693 MW, solar generation capacity of 1188 MW, wind power generation capacity of 1161 MW and waste gas generation capacity of 375 MW.
The company also has a significant international presence in Indonesia, South Africa, Singapore, Bhutan, Georgia, Vietnam, and Zambia.
The total installed capacity of power stations in India stood at 350.16 GW in 2019. The Government of India’s ‘Power for All’ initiative has accelerated capacity addition in the country and India’s rank has jumped to 24 in World Bank’s Ease of Doing Business – “Getting Electricity” ranking in 2018. From 2000 to 2018, the power industry has attracted US$ 14.18 billion in Foreign Direct Investment.
The Government of India has released its roadmap to achieve 175GW capacity in renewable energy by 2022, which includes 100 GW of solar power and 60 GW of wind power.

Mr. Kasturi Soundarajan has been working at Tata Powers Ltd. for more than 3 years as the Head of Investor Relations and Treasury. Before that, he worked as Head of Investor Relations at Reliance Power Limited for 7 years and at Lanco for 2 years.
He was also a Senior Manager of Finance at NTPC for 17 years where he worked in different areas of finance, debt, and equity fundraising.
