Shriram Transport Finance Corporation Limited is one of India’s largest asset financing NBFCs in India with a niche presence in financing pre-owned trucks to Small Truck Owners. The company has a network of 1,348 branch offices and 885 rural centres and partnerships with around 500 financiers. It is a flagship company of Shriram Group which is a diversified group with interests in various financial services.
The company has an Assets Under Management of US$ 13.68bn and it did securitization of US$ 1.79bn in 2017-18.
India has a diversified financial sector that is undergoing rapid expansion. NBFCs in India play a critical role as a key contributor to the economy by providing a fillip to infrastructure, employment generation, wealth creation and access to financial services for the rural and weaker sections of the society.
Retail and MSME segments have been key growth areas for NBFCs, with a total credit outstanding of US$ 107bn as on FY 2018. The total credit market share for NBFCs has increased to 16% in 2017.

Mr. Umesh Revankar holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Mangalore University and MBA in Finance. He had attended the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. Mr. Revankar started his career with Shriram Group as an Executive Trainee in the year 1987. He is with Shriram group for the last 32 years and possesses extensive experience in the financial services industry. He has Grown with the organization and at present, he is Managing Director & CEO of Shriram Transport Finance Company Limited. During his stint with the Group, he has shouldered various responsibilities and worked in several key roles of business operations.
He was the past President of Federation of Indian Hire Purchase Association (FIHPA). He is a director in the Finance Industry Development Council (FIDC).
